Marlyn Luther Eisenbarth, 90, New Matamoras, OH, passed away Monday, October 14, 2024 at Waterview Pointe nursing home. He was born June 11, 1934 in Sardis Ohio, a son of the late Paul and Ida Eisenbarth. He was a graduate of Sardis High School and was a star player on the basketball team. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army from 1956 to 1958 and was stationed in Germany. His division was replaced with the division Elvis Presley was assigned to and witnessed his night arrival on base from the back gate. He was a pipefitter for Ormet Aluminum Reduction Plant and a member of Washington Hall Christian Union Church.
He is survived by three children, David (Beth DuBeck) Eisenbarth, Mark (Tammy) Eisenbarth and Karen Eisenbarth; eight grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; one sister, Grace (Glenn) Reiner; one brother, Keith Eisenbarth; a sister in-law and brother-in law, Joyce (Chuck) Stokes; one niece; and two nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Vera Baker Eisenbarth; and two brothers, Michael Eisenbarth and Leland Eisenbarth.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
