Marlys Johnson Obituary

Marlys was born on December 31, 1934 in Bagley, MN to pastor M. A. and Elmyra Braaten. She was the second of six children. Growing up they lived in ND, WI and MN. She graduated from Houston High School and went to Luther College in Decorah, IA.
Marlys married Dean Wooderd Johnson November 17, 1956. They had four children: Deb (Ed), Coral (Mark), Marcus, and Matthew (Parker).
She was preceded in death by her father, mother, brother Jim, and brother John. She is survived by her husband, sisters; Borgne (Robert), Ruth (Jim), Janet. Her children, her grandchildren; Tony (Jenn), Allissa (Thor), Oran, Aidan (Raeven), Heather, and great grandchildren; Emerson, and Nora.
We are grateful to the Lexington Pointe Senior Living staff who took such good care of her and M Health Fairview Hospital who guided us in her final hours.
Services are planned for November 2, 2024 at Grace Lutheran Church 7800 150th St W, Apple Valley, MN 55124. Visitation is at 10:30am, service is at 11:30am with luncheon following.
