Marguerite "Marge" Frascona, age 91, of St. Charles, passed away Friday, July 26, 2024 at Delnor Hospital surrounded by her loving family. She was born October 24, 1932, in Chicago, the daughter of Sylvester and Catherine (Waukechon) Volpe. In 1956 Marguerite married Sam and they were married for almost 44 years. They resided in Geneva, where they raised two children. Marguerite, was a homemaker, where she was active with her children's, sports and other activities. She and her husband owned and ran Mr.Sam's Snack shop in Geneva for several years. In 1982 her and her family moved to St. Charles where they became parishioners of St, Patrick Mission Church. After the passing of her late husband, she met a gentle soul, Jimmy Badali where they formed a bond and became companions for many years. Marguerite was a member of the Menominee Indian Tribe of Wisconsin where she celebrated her heritage with several family members by attending pow-wows and other tribal activities. Marguerite was active in several groups and activities after the passing of her late husband. She was a longtime member of the St. Charles Park District A.A.C. where she played tripoli, bingo and frequented the potlucks and luncheons. She also was a member of the St. Patrick's V.I.P. Senior group, where she attended monthly community dinners. Marguerite had a "Secretary" Pat Redding to keep her social calendar straight. She also was active in her grandchildren's lives, attending their school functions, sports and activities.
She is survived by her two children Steven Frascona of St. Charles and Suzanne (Mike) Busch of Lady Lake, Florida; grandchildren Jacob and Megan Frascona; Zack (Lauren) Busch, and Alexis Busch (Graham Cason); great grandchildren Noah, Sophia, and Amelia Busch; sister Alice Larson; and several nieces, nephews, and other close family members.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Joseph Volpe, her husband Sam, and her companion of many years Vincent "Jimmy" Badali.
Marguerite's Funeral Service will be held Saturday, August 3, 2024 at 9:00 am at Malone Funeral Home, 324 E. State Street (Route 38), Geneva. Burial will follow at Queen of Heaven Catholic Cemetery in Hillside. Visitation will be held Friday, August 2 from 5:00 - 8:00 pm at Malone Funeral Home.
