M arquis Shamar Revis , son of Dwayne Tibbs and the late Cydni M. Revis, entered eternal rest at VCU Medical Center on November 30, 2025. Marquis was born on June 28, 2001 in South Hill, Virginia.
Marquis attended Mecklenburg County Public Schools. In 2020, he graduated from Bluestone High School where he loved to play basketball. Among his favorite pastimes, he enjoyed playing video games, hanging out with his cousins and friends, as well as spending quality time with his nephew DJ. He would also often spend time fishing with his uncle.
In addition to his mother, Cydni M. Revis, Marquis was also preceded in death by his grandmother, Beverly Tibbs.
He leaves to cherish loving memories: his father, Dwayne Tibbs of Washington, DC; his grandmother, Wanda Revis of Chase City; his sisters, Aniyah Townes, Kazarie Revis, Jazariona Revis, Takia Nelson, Teira Coles, N'adea Elam of Chase City; his aunts, Arie Tibbs of North Carolina, Tia Wilson of South Hill, Vashanua Smithson (Carnell Jr.) of Chase City, and Latasha Revis (William) of Clarksville; his uncles, Marcus W. Coles of South Hill, Antonia Coles (LaNikki) and Derrick Downey of Clarksville, Calvin Revis of South Boston and Brian Minor; devoted friends, Todd and Sharrod; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Memorial Service for Mr. Marquis Shamar Revis will be held on Sunday, December 7, 2025 at 2:00 P.M. at Bethlehem Baptist Church, 107 West Fifth Street, Chase City, VA with Rev. Dr. Ricky A. Lee delivering the eulogy.
