Marquis Thomas

Marquis Thomas, 44, transitioned from this earth to eternal life on Monday, August 18th, 2025. Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, August 30th, 2025, at 1 pm at Triumph Baptist Church, Slaton, TX. Private Disposition under the direction of Griffin Mortuary. Marquis Thomas was born on April 25th, 1981 to Bobby Don Pegues and Della Mae Thomas.

Marquis liked to hear and make music. He loved to spend time with his family and grandchildren, he loved to play games, eat, and bar-b-que. He enjoyed movies. He was a man of few words, he was simple and genuine. He was the most humble man, he appreciated the little things. If you needed anything he would help anybody. He was a man of his word.

He is preceded in death by his mother Della Mae Thomas and his brother Bobby Don Jr.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his wife Valerie Thomas, his daughters Alysha Thomas and Asia Thomas, his son Marquis Andre Thomas, Jr., his sister Christi Pegues, his grandchildren Levi Hunter and Symphony Hunter, his nieces Alexis Chapman, Genesis James, and Jasmine Vela, his nephews Darius Brown, Elijah Almanza, Trystam Anderson, Joshua Vela, and J.D. Vela, and a host of other relatives and friends.
