Marrion Carol Sweek

Marrion Carol Sweek, aged 80, passed away peacefully in her home in Del City, Oklahoma, on Saturday March 9, 2024, surrounded by cherished stories and memories. Born on September 7, 1943, in Oklahoma City into a large family of the late Robert Willard and Venita Pearl Booth. Marrion was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 45 years, Darrell Allan Sweek, as well her siblings; Irene Gage, Ernest and Virgil Booth, Hazel Webb, Viola Halder, Juanita Lowe, Betty Hall, and Billie Brackett and her son, James Juaquin Lamar.
Marrion grew up among a large family in Caney, OK where she completed her studies. After graduating she ventured to Orange County, CA before moving back to her home in Oklahoma City. Marrion was a lover of sports, music, and game playing. She competed on basketball teams and a bowling league, loved to play cards, and visit the casino. When she was not competing herself, she would be the biggest fan in the stands. Marrion was employed with Hensel's Optical, where she met Darrell, before they went into business for themselves at Darrell's Contact Service. She also was a receptionist for Dr. Felix Kay of Midwest City before retirement.
Her home was full of laughter and pitter patter of her children, Juaquin Lamar, and Travis Sweek. Survived by many grandchildren; Miranda and Amber Lamar of Minnesota and Randi, Reagin, Tracee and her great grandchild, Andee Sweek of Del City, Oklahoma. She was a loving aunt remembered by her nieces and nephews; Leona and Lester Taylor, Kenneth "Bubba" Brackett, as well as his children Chance and Brandon Brackett.
We will gather to honor Marrion's remarkable journey in Candlewood Chapel Friday, March 15th, 2024, at Ford Funeral Service beginning at 10:00am with interment to follow at Arlington Memory Gardens.
