Marsha Ann Bettis, age 60, passed away peacefully, surrounded by love, leaving behind a legacy of compassion, strength, and unwavering devotion to her family.
Born on July 29, 1964, Marsha was the daughter of the late Carolyn Ann Jones and James Turner Moore Sr. She is also preceded in death by her stepfather, John Jerome Jones; her stepmother, Carolyn Skelton Moore; and her grandparents, Frances Poole Eubanks, James Marion Eubanks, Cotye Duggan Moore, and Robert Lewis Moore Sr.
Born with a nurturing spirit, Marsha lived her life looking after others. Whether she was caring for her patients as a dedicated home health nurse, loving on her grandchildren, or watching over the neighborhood kids as if they were her own, Marsha made it her mission to make others feel safe and cherished. Her patients adored her, often checking in on her even during their most difficult days-a testament to the love and light she brought into their lives. Marsha had a special place in her heart for the underdog, always ready with encouragement and unwavering support. She was fiercely protective of her family and was a true mama bear. In her eyes, her boys and her grandsons could do no wrong. They were the center of her world, and she never missed an opportunity to boast about them or shower them with affection.
She found joy in the simple pleasures of life. A master bargain-hunter, Marsha had a gift for thrifting, antiquing, and uncovering hidden treasures. She loved working in her yard and tending to her flower garden, finding peace and beauty in nature. Marsha shared countless adventures with her husband Todd, her partner in life and travel. Whether they were setting off on a spontaneous trip or relaxing by the beach, they made every moment together count. A devoted Baptist and proud woman of faith, Marsha was saved by Grace at a young age and carried her love for God with her every day. Her faith was her compass, guiding her actions and bringing comfort to those around her.
Marsha is survived by her loving husband, Eric "Todd" Bettis; her devoted sons, Christopher Ray Floyd (Liz) and Chadwick Taylor Floyd Sr. (Caitlin); her grandsons, Chadwick "Taylor" Floyd Jr. (Moose), and Cooper James Floyd; her step-daughter, Kinsey Taylor Bettis; her siblings, James "Jim" T. Moore Jr. (Jennice), Steve Allen Moore (April), David Christopher Moore (Andrea), Keith Johnston, and Scott Johnston (Kathy); as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family members.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 22 at 2:30 p.m. in the chapel at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, North Chapel with Rev. Jody Brock officiating. Interment will follow at Oaknoll Memorial Gardens. Serving as pallbearers will be Chris Floyd, Brandon Moore, Caleb Moore, Zorin Moore, Damen Moore, Hayden Moore, Thad Moore, and Jared Johnston. Serving as an honorary pallbearer will be Chad Floyd.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 22, 2025, at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, North Chapel, from 12:00 p.m. until the hour of service.
