Marsha Lee Shenise, a beloved sister, aunt, and dedicated professional, passed away peacefully on September 22, 2025, in her hometown of Akron, Ohio. Born on June 7, 1950, Marsha was a lifelong resident of this vibrant community where she left an indelible mark through her multifaceted career and her passionate pursuits.
Marsha began her journey in the world of public service as a Criminal Investigator for the Medina County Welfare Department. Her unwavering commitment to justice and fairness shaped the lives of many individuals and families within the community. Later, she transitioned into teaching, a role through which she inspired countless students to strive for excellence and embrace their potential. Her educational legacy remains a testament to her belief in the power of knowledge and the importance of guidance.
A proud graduate of Akron University, Marsha’s academic pursuits fueled her curiosity and love for learning throughout her life. When she was not working to uplift and educate others, she found great joy in exploring her family history. Marsha had a deep passion for genealogy, spending countless hours tracing her ancestry, uncovering fascinating stories and connections that enriched her life and the lives of those around her.
Marsha was a cherished member of her family. She leaves behind her loving sister, Sandra (Larry) Benedum, and her supportive brother, Larry (Bonnie) Shenise. Her warmth and kindness will be profoundly missed by several nieces and nephews and by her daughter Amanda Rose, who remember her not just as an aunt but also as a mentor and friend.
Marsha was predeceased by her parents, Edward and Eleanor, who instilled in her a strong sense of integrity and compassion, as well as her brother, Robert, whose memory she cherished dearly.
In life, Marsha exemplified generosity and strength, touching the hearts of everyone she encountered. Her legacy will continue to inspire those who had the privilege of knowing her. As we reflect on her remarkable journey, we are reminded of her extraordinary capacity for love and the impact she had on countless lives. Rest in peace, dear Marsha; your spirit will forever resonate within us.
