Mrs. Marsheila Renaie Howell Shuler, age 51, of Winnfield, Louisiana, passed away on Monday, July 21, 2025.
Born on April 9, 1974, in Winnfield, Marsheila was a lifelong resident of Winn Parish and a woman known for her strong faith, love for family, and commitment to her community. She attended First Assembly of God Church in Winnfield, where she found strength and fellowship throughout her life.
A graduate of Dodson High School, Marsheila went on to earn a two-year associate degree in Business from Northwestern State University. She served the public for many years, working as a dispatcher with the Winnfield City Police Department, and later as a case manager with the Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS)-roles in which her compassion, steady presence, and dedication touched countless lives.
Marsheila was also an enthusiastic sports fan, cheering on her beloved LSU Tigers and Dallas Cowboys with loyal devotion.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, D.M. Jr. and Betty Wagoner Howell, and George and Alpha Higgs Brewton; her in-laws, Samuel D. Shuler Jr. and Thelma B. Shuler; and her beloved niece and nephew, Tristan Howell and Annalise Claire Howell.
Those left to cherish her memory include her devoted husband, David Shuler; her father, Marshal Ray Howell; her mother, Liz Brewton Howell; her children, Lathan Rudd and MaKennie Rudd; and her grandchildren, Rosie Rudd and Freya Rudd, who were the light of her life. She is also survived by her siblings, Kellie Bordelon (husband Marcus) and Seth Ray Howell, along with extended family and many dear friends.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM on Friday, July 25, 2025, at First Assembly of God Church in Winnfield, with Reverends Mike Howell, Shaun Garner, and Hayward Hossler officiating. Interment will follow at Bethlehem Cemetery under the direction of Southern Funeral Home.
