Marta Miranda 83, of Lorain went to be with the lord on February 3, 2026, at her daughter, Maggie, and son-in-law, Jim’s, home in Rocky River. Marta was surrounded by her family and under the care of Hospice of the Western Reserve. Special thanks to Haley Sichau, her caregiver.
She was born in Guánica, Puerto Rico on August 10, 1942. She was a resident of Ohio for most of her life. She worked as a housekeeper for 20 plus years, until she retired from Harborside nursing home.
Marta loved gardening, cooking for her family, spending time with her grandchildren, and teaching them Spanish nursery rhymes.
Survivors include her children, Maggie (Jim) Martin, Tito (Anne), Manuel, and Marco (Allana); stepchildren, Ramon, William and Nereida; eight grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. Also, two sisters, Ana Garcia (New York) and Provie Munoz (Wellington, Ohio).
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Guadalupe (Lupe); son, Gabriel (Gabe); stepson, Ruben; and twelve brothers and sisters, also deceased throughout the years.
Mom, the heart of the Miranda Family, will be missed dearly.
Family and friends to be received Friday, February 13, 2026, from 4:00pm – 8:00 pm, at Wyers-Bollinger Funeral Chapel, 2900 N. Ridge Road, Sheffield Township, Ohio. Funeral Mass to be held on Saturday, February 14, 2026, at St. Christopher Parish, 20141 Detroit Rd, Rocky River, Ohio, at 10:00 am, followed by procession to her final resting place, Calvary Cemetery in Lorain, Ohio.
