Martha A. Bowman

Martha Alice Bowman, 72, of Augusta, WV, died Sunday, October 19, 2025, at the Winchester Medical Center with her four grandchildren by her side just 11 days after her husband George S. "Sandy" Bowman, Sr.
Martha was born on October 22, 1952, in Fayette County, PA, the daughter of the late Clair O. and Elise E. Brant Dixon. Martha was loved by all and was known as everyone's grandmother. She had a great sense of humor and knew how to make people smile. She loved her community, and her family dearly, especially her grandchildren. She would always remind them to "Say your prayers".
Martha married George S. "Sandy" Bowman, Sr. on March 12, 1971, in Hancock, MD. Sandy died October 8, 2025.
Surviving is a daughter: Amy Bowman of Augusta, WV; four grandchildren: Dylan & Cassie Bowman, Danielle & Maggie Slocum all of Augusta, WV; and a great granddaughter: Aspyn Slocum.
She is preceded in death by a son: George S. Bowman, Jr.
A funeral service will be held at Giffin Funeral Home & Crematory on Thursday, October 30, 2025, at 5:00 PM. Officiating will be Pastor Doug Tusing.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 3:30-5.
