Myra J. "Jeanie" Abrell, 74, of Paw Paw, West Virginia, died on Saturday, October 11, 2025 at her home.
Jennie was born on April 16, 1951, in Winchester, VA, the daughter of the late David F. and Elizabeth Haines Link. She worked as a deli manager at Food Lion in Winchester, VA for 25 years, then Shawnee Springs Market for five years. She was a member of Hebron Baptist Church in Gore, VA. Jeannie loves traveling, enjoyed spending time at the beach, especially North Myrtle Beach, SC, cherished her time on her river lot in Galax, VA, being with her family & friends and being at home with her beloved furry friend, Peanut.
Jeannie was married to her first late husband: Kenneth W. Cox. She later married to Boyd S. Abrell on November 4, 1988. Boyd died on August 10, 2015.
Surviving are two sons: Michael S. Link (Tracy) of Winchester, VA; Pete W. Cox (Michelle) of Galax, VA; two brothers: James "ED" Lupton of Streetsboro, OH; Leroy D. Link of Gore, VA; a sister, Barbara A. Ours of Moorefield, WV; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her brother: William F. "Frank" Lupton and a grandson: C.J. Cox.
The family will receive friends at the Giffin Funeral Home & Crematory in Capon Bridge, WV on Thursday, October 16, 2025, from 12-1:30 PM, followed by a funeral service at 1:30 PM. Officiating will be Pastor Alanna McGuinn. Interment will follow in the Rio Cemetery in Rio, WV. Family has requested to dress casual for the service.
