Martha Sue Cottrell, age 57 of Wooster, went home to be with Jesus on Sunday, January 4, 2026, at Wooster Community Hospital following an unexpected illness. Her family was by her side.
She was born on December 27, 1968, to John Oscar, Jr. and Carol Sue (Carnahan) Bellamy and has been an area resident for most of her life.
Martha later married David J. Cottrell in Wooster on July 2, 1993 He survives.
She was a longtime member of West Hill Baptist Church in Wooster. She loved playing online puzzle games and Bingo. She loved having family over for cookouts and hanging out with family and friends on nice weather days. She also loved just being at home with her husband, Dave, the love of her life!
In addition to her beloved husband, she is survived by her nephew whom she helped to raise and was like a son, Oscar Lucas of Wooster; siblings, David (Michele) Brooks and John (Denise) Bellamy all of Wooster and Amanda Bellamy of Canton, Ohio; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins and friends.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sister, Jada Bellamy.
There will be a private family viewing, and a private interment will take place at a later date at the convenience of the family.
