Frances, a native of Monticello, Mississippi, was a devoted homemaker and a faithful member of Christian Life Assembly of God. Her life was centered around her family and her church, where she poured her love, energy, and time into others. She found joy in the simple things-gardening, growing both flowers and vegetables, and sharing the beauty of God's creation with those around her. Her hands were rarely still, always busy with cooking, serving, and helping wherever she was needed. Frances was especially active in her church community, volunteering her time, working in the nursery, preparing meals, and offering a helping hand to anyone in need.
Frances married the love of her life, Emmit, in 1952, and together they raised three boys. As a mother, she was fiercely protective yet gentle, teaching her children to love and respect others. She ensured they were always cared for-well dressed, well fed, and always in church. Her love multiplied as her family grew. Becoming a grandmother was one of her greatest joys, and she lived for her grandchildren. Babysitting them as they grew, she cherished every moment and made sure each visit was filled with warmth, love, and a good meal waiting on the table. Later, as a great-grandmother, her heart expanded even further, embracing every new generation with the same devotion.
Frances had a heart for people. She never wanted anyone to go without and was always willing to give of herself-whether it was her time, her talents, or even the very things she had. Her generosity and love touched countless lives.
Above all, Frances was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her, but her legacy of love, faith, and kindness will live on in the lives of those she touched.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Shelby Fairman Carney and Bonnie Cox Carney; husband of 63 years, Emmit Cupstid; grandson, Logan Cupstid; sibilings, Voncille Robinson, Jewel Carney, Bobby Carney, Lucille Tanksley, and Helen Phillips.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Tommy (Linda) Cupstid, Steven (Laurie) Cupstid, David (Doris) Cupstid; grandchildren, Cherie (Beau) Blake, Michelle Molinary, Angel (Nick) Lee, James (Starlee) Delcoure, Beau (Sabrina) Cupstid, Gabe (Angelique) Cupstid, Ethan (Emma) Cupstid; great grandchildren, Briley, Bennet, Leigh, Drake, Brylynn, Tayler, Daniel, Layra, Ella Sophia, and Tatum; brother, Wick Carney; sister, Debbie Davis; dear friend, Sandra "Barbie" Gaines.
