Martha Gibbs Davey, 73, passed away on May 11, 2024, after a courageous battle with breast and uterine cancer. She departed peacefully at home with her husband lying beside her, holding her hand.

Born on June 27, 1950 to the late Finley "Tony" Edgar and Birdie Harue Moffett Gibbs, Martha Gibbs Davey touched the lives of those around her with her strength, resilience, and unwavering spirit. Despite facing the challenges of her illness, she remained a beacon of hope and inspiration to all who knew her.

Throughout her life, Martha Gibbs Davey embodied kindness and compassion. Her selflessness and generosity knew no bounds, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of friends and family alike. Martha's legacy of love will be cherished by all who had the privilege of sharing in her journey.

Martha Gibbs Davey is survived by her loving family, including her husband Mel Davey, Jr.; son, Mel Davey, III and his wife Jessica; grandchildren, Colin Davey and Cameron "Cami" Davey; and a host of nieces and nephews. Martha's memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew her, and her strength will continue to inspire generations to come.

In addition to her parents, Martha was preceded in death by her siblings, John Elmer Gibbs, W.M. "Snow" Gibbs, Merle Charlyne Gibbs Powell, Margaret Eloise Gibbs Scott, Mabel Louise Gibbs Watson, Herbert Hoover Gibbs, Joe Finley Gibbs, Ray Gibbs, Fay Gibbs, Bobby Glen Gibbs, James Kenneth Gibbs, Billy Keith Gibbs, and Donny Max Gibbs.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the Youth Group at The Reel Church in Martha Gibbs Davey's honor.

May Martha Gibbs Davey rest in eternal peace, free from pain, and may she be remembered for the love and light she brought into the lives of others.
