Martha C. Diss, 82 of Byesville, passed away Sunday (January 1, 2023) at her home.
She was born August 1, 1940 in Byesville, daughter of the late Richard L. Knight and Mary J. (Kasper) Knight.
A 1958 graduate of Byesville High School and the Cambridge Business College, Martha had worked at NCR for several years and later retired from the State of Ohio Department of Natural Resources.
She was a faithful member of the Christ Lutheran Church.
Martha loved spending time with her family. She enjoyed a good cup of coffee, playing bingo, and watching & attending NASCAR races – her favorite driver was Richard Petty.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant son; a daughter, Carol Diane Noplis; a son, Kevin R. Diss; a brother, Rodney Knight; and a sister, Delores Piper.
She is survived by her husband, Ken Diss, whom she married December 29, 1972 and they celebrated their 50th anniversary this past year; a daughter, Kelly Mallett of Byesville; two stepdaughters, Karla Diss and Kim Diss; a daughter-in-law, Beth Diss; nine grandchildren, Kayla Moore, Samantha Pogh, Storm McLaughlin, Kelsey Diss, Douglas Kirk, Kaleb Diss, Kameron Diss, Allyson Mallett, and Jordyn Mallett; six great-grandchildren; and her extended family, Tam, Nau, Shara, Tiffany, Winnie, and Nathan.
Memorial visitation hours will be held Saturday (January 7, 2023) from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Black-Epperson Funeral Home, Byesville, where a memorial service will follow at 12 p.m.
