Martha "Lois" Cottrill Rogers Dye, 97, of Lost Creek, passed away on Saturday, September 20, 2025, in the Crestview Manor Healthcare Center, while surrounded by her loving family.

Lois was born on August 15, 1928, in Chub Run of Mt. Clare, WV, a daughter of the late Thurman F. Cottrill Sr. and Tressie A. Williams Cottrill.

She was also preceded in death by her two husbands, George D. Rogers Sr. and Charles H. Dye.

She is survived by her son, James "Jim" Rogers and his wife Sonja of Lost Creek; daughter, Lana VanHorn and her husband Robert of OH;15 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; many great-great-grandchildren; several great-great-great-grandchildren; two daughters-in-law, Deborah "Debbie" Rogers and Nancy Dye Storm; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by her three daughters, Martha Gore, Betty Vanmeter, and Amy Rogers; two sons, George "Denny" Rogers and Jeff Dye; three brothers, Douglas Cottrill, Thurman Cottrill Jr. and infant, Dewayne Cottrill; two sisters, Lucille Cottrill and Thurmetta Cottrill Dye; as well as her favorite teacher, Irma White. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

Lois spent her career as a dedicated LPN where she worked for the United Hospital Center for over 30 years, having retired in 1993. She was an alumnus of the LPN Alumni Association. She was also a member of the CEO's Friendly Neighbors and the Lost Creek Senior Citizens Center. She was a former member of the Lost Creek Firewomen's Auxillary and the Lost Creek City Council. She was named Harrison County Belle at the Folk Festival in Glenville in 2007 and was the "Queen of the Parade" at the 2023 Lost Creek Fall Festival. She was also a devoted member of the Lost Creek United Methodist Church for over 50 years.

In her spare time, she would spend hours solving jigsaw puzzles and was gifted at completing crossword puzzles. She enjoyed singing and was creative in making up lyrics for songs she may not know. She believed in having her dessert first and loved to eat sweets.

Family and friends may call at the Amos Carvelli Funeral Home, 201 Edison Street, Nutter Fort on Tuesday from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. where a service will be held on Wednesday, September 24, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Robert VanHorn presiding. Interment will follow in the Seventh Day Baptist Cemetery.
