Martha Jane Thomason Few, age 87, of Murfreesboro, TN went to be with the Lord on Thursday, December 19, 2024. Mrs. Few was born in Greenville, South Carolina on January 10, 1937. She attended World Outreach Church in Murfreesboro. In high school, she was a cheerleader, Sr. Class officer, basketball player and an avid singer (even auditioning on the Ed Sullivan show). In 1969, she married Jimmy Few in Pickens, SC. The two later moved to Tullahoma, TN where they raised their only son, Jason. For many years, Mrs. Few worked for the Tullahoma city school system as an administrative assistant and became known as a "second mom" to decades of children. In 2017, she received the Clyde W Smith Jr. Leadership Award from the Tullahoma school system for her service in education. Her legacy revolved around her love for Jesus Christ and the children of Tullahoma. She was an active member of the local Fellowship of Christian Athletes for many years. Throughout her life, she hosted many Bible studies, taught Sunday School, provided multiple speaking engagements, and hosted annual FCA picnics at her home. Mrs. Few was preceded in death by her parents, Alonzo Thomason and Myrtie Thomason, husband-Jimmy Few, son-Jason Few, sister-Myrtie Jo Patrick; brothers, Col. Jackson Thomason and Jimmy Thomason. Other family members include nieces: Heather Pacak, Melissa OToole, Deborah Jordan Teresa Parker. A CELEBRATION OF LIFE will be conducted at the Cedar Lane Church of Christ in Tullahoma, TN on Saturday January 11th at 12:30pm with a Graveside service at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens scheduled for 2pm afterwards in Tullahoma. In lieu of flowers, Donations can be made in her name to : Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Attn: Bruce Gifford, PO Box 19 Flintville, TN 37335
