Martha E. Joines ObituaryMARTHA E. JOINES, 83 of Pylesville, MD, died in her home on Monday, October 7, 2024. She was the beloved wife of Robert James Joines who died in 1973.
Born on June 15, 1941 in Lamoni, Iowa, she was one of seven children born to the late Lester Evans and Dorothy Carlson Evans. Martha had worked as a kiln operator for Maryland Lava Company, at the Ballpark Diner and for the former Tropical Treat Pizza/Sub-Shop in Darlington, MD. In her earlier years, Martha raised horses, beef cattle, enjoyed gardening and was known to have the prettiest flower gardens. She had a pet goose named Lucy who followed her everywhere. A strong faith in God, she had attended Trappe Baptist Church.

Two children-
Teresa Testerman and her husband, Don of Pylesville, MD
James Joines and his wife, Donya of Piney Creek, NC
Two sisters-
Thelma Smith and Ann Hollansen, both of Loveland, CO
Three grandchildren-
Stephanie Harris, Brad Testerman and Randall Jones
She was preceded in death by her siblings: Everett Evans, Junior Evans, Pauline Pfab and Eileen Henderson.
Services will be held on Friday, October 11, 2024 in Harkins Funeral Home, 600 Main Street, Delta, PA with a viewing from 12 – 12:50 p.m. followed with the funeral service at 1 p.m. Pastor Doug McClean will officiate. Interment will follow in Bel Air Memorial Gardens, Bel Air, Maryland.
