Martha Louise Marengo, 81, of Kearney, MO passed away Wednesday, December 17, 2025. She was born September 17, 1944 to Nellie Louise Elliott and Ulrich Ashley (UA) Pratt. Martha was the second of four children. Martha married James Marengo September 12, 1969. Over the years Martha worked for Lake City Armory, selling Avon and Tupperware, REACH office, Kansas City Correctional Center Business office, and Chillicothe Correctional Center Business office. Martha retired October 2006 and moved to Kearney where she resided until her death. She was an active member of the First Christian Church of Kearney, MO and quilting group, and was also a board member of Kearney Senior Housing. Martha loved spending time with her family and friends and shopping for bargains.
Martha is survived by her daughter Jackie Peterson of Excelsior Springs, MO, 2 brothers Larry (Virginia) Pratt of Kearney, MO, and James Pratt of Hamilton, MO, grandchildren AJ, Ryan, Nicole, Matthew, Crystal, several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her father UA "Red" Pratt, mother Louise Pratt, husband James Marengo, brother Robert, daughters Sheila Reardon, and Theresa Susan Hopkins, and grandsons Daniel and David Mize, and sister in law Janice Pratt.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the First Christian Church of Kearney: 2151 S. Jefferson Street, Kearney, Mo 64060.
In honor of Martha's memory, guests are welcome to wear bright colors (purple and red were her favorite).
