Martha Jean McCurdy, 89, of Indiana, passed away on Friday, September 20, 2024. She was born on October 4, 1934, in Five Points, to the late Milo and Ruth (Boddorf) Miller.
Martha graduated from Indiana High School in 1951, she worked for Seasonall Industries and in the housekeeping department for IUP before her retirement. After her retirement, she traveled the country with her husband in his truck for nine years. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, as well as the Indiana Moose. Martha loved to travel, attend dances, camping, and especially spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Martha's quiet strength, nurturing spirit, and unwavering love for her family left an indelible mark on all who knew her. She enjoyed the simple pleasures of life and found the greatest happiness in the time spent with her loved ones.
She is survived by her husband of 68 years, Harry Richard "Dick" McCurdy, Sr., of Indiana, sons Richard (Diane) McCurdy of Hershey, PA, Greg Eugene (Scendie) McCurdy of South Carolina, Douglas Randall (Sue) McCurdy of Home, PA, daughter Suzann Lynn Clark of Indiana, 12 grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews and many friends.
Besides her parents, Martha is preceded in death by her seven siblings.
Friends will be received by the family in the Bowser Minich Funeral Home on Wednesday, September 25, 2024, from 4-7 PM, and again on Thursday, September 26, from 11 AM until the time of service at 12:30 PM with Pastor Patrick Lenox officiating. Burial will follow in Oakland Cemetery, Indiana.

Aunt Martha, one of my mothers dearest friends, had such a sweet, delicate way about her. But there was the truckers wife and country way about her too. I remember when my mom and her drove a truck load of Christmas trees to I believe, Cleveland, OH. To earn some extra money for our Christmas gifts. I can only imagine being in that truck cab with them and the laughter that was always there when they got together.
My heartfelt condolences to Uncle Dick and the kids. Love to all. Kathy Jo.
