Martha Brown Pollitt, 73, of Flemingsburg, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 12, 2026, at the Bluegrass Hospice in Lexington. She was the widow of Larry Lee Pollitt.
Born in Maysville on July 18, 1952, she was the daughter of the late William F. and Louise Young Brown.
Martha was a huge fan of UK basketball. She was always good for a fun time and lots of laughs. She absolutely adored her great grandson, Jacob, her pride and her joy. Martha retired from her banking career at Peoples Bank after 29 years of service. She had previously been with the Kentucky State Department, CHA Division.
Martha is survived by her grandson, Trenten Pollitt (Brittany); her granddaughter, Taryn (Wesley) Brown; her great grandson, Jacob Lee Pollitt; and her great granddaughter, Katelyn Zornes. She is also survived by her sister, Jayne (John) Black of Fort Thomas; along with several nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends – including her special friend group the B’s; and her caregiver, Frances Hamilton.
In addition to her parents and Larry, her husband of 37 years who passed in 2010; Martha was preceded in death by her son, William Matthew “Matt” Pollitt in 2015; and her brother, William Y. Brown.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, March 17, 2026, at Boone-Nickell Funeral Home with Bro. Randy Fritz and Bro. Marty Voiers officiating.
Honorary pallbearers for Martha include her fellow B’s, Teresa Mitchell, Kathy Voiers, Carla Grannis, and Eda Earlywine.
Visitation for Martha will be 12 p.m. until 2 p.m., Tuesday, March 17, at Boone-Nickell located at 150 West Water Street in Flemingsburg.
In place of flowers, please consider a donation in Martha’s memory to the Cancer Care Club, P.O. Box 189, Flemingsburg KY 41041.
