Martha Lee Pryor, a beloved member of her family and a cherished friend to many, passed away peacefully on September 24, 2025. Born on June 15, 1948, in Dallas, Texas, Martha was the daughter of Marcus Vasqusez and Natalie Valdez, both of whom predeceased her. She grew up in Texas, where she developed lifelong connections and fond memories that shaped her warm and generous spirit.
Martha was a proud graduate of Irving High School, where her vibrant personality and determination shone brightly. After establishing a successful career, she worked for AOA Insurance, Roma Foods, and HD Vest, leaving a lasting impact on those she encountered in her professional life.
On November 16, 1990, Martha married Gerald Pryor, and together they built a loving home filled with joy and laughter. She is survived by her devoted husband, Gerald, and her children, Gina Rios and Stacy Large. Martha was especially proud of her grandchildren, Nick and Ashley Rios, as well as her wonderful great-grandchildren: Adalyn, Scarlet, Eden, Carter, Gabriella, and Wyatt Rios. In addition, she embraced her role as a stepmother to Vonya Hawley and delighted in her step-grandchildren, Ericka and Matt Jones, and Elizabeth and Rafael Trujillo, along with her step-great-grandchildren, Marco, Orlando, Marianna, and Briella.
Martha was a devoted member of the Methodist Church, where she participated actively and found community. She had a heart for service and an innate ability to make others feel valued and loved, whether through her work, church, or her vast circle of friends.
Martha is preceded in death by her father, Marcus Vasqusez, her mother, Natalie Vasqusez, and her sister, Debroah Vasquez. Her legacy of kindness and compassion will continue to resonate among family and friends.
A visitation in honor of Martha Lee Pryor will take place on September 30, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Chism-Smith Funeral Home in Irving, Texas. She will be remembered not just for her dedication to her family and work, but also for the warmth she shared with everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her. Martha's spirit will forever live on in the hearts of those she touched throughout her remarkable journey.
