It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Martha Jo Stiebing, who departed this life peacefully of natural causes on October 31, 2025. Born on December 23, 1940, in Waco, Texas, Martha was the beloved daughter of Raymond and Mildred Burton. She lived a life full of love and devotion in Arlington, Texas, where she built her family and left an indelible mark on her community.
Martha was a dedicated educator, serving for many years as a teacher with the Arlington Independent School District. Her passion for teaching inspired countless students, and her commitment to education was evident in everything she did. She touched the lives of those around her with her compassion and kindness, instilling the values of curiosity and hard work in her students.
In 1963, Martha married her true love, James Stiebing, with whom she shared an incredible 62 years of marriage. Together, they raised two wonderful sons, Alan and James, who carry forward their parents' legacy of warmth and dedication. Martha's family was her pride and joy, and she cherished every moment spent with them, from simple family dinners to joyful gatherings that highlighted her unwavering love.
Martha is survived by her devoted husband, James; their two sons, James (wife, Judy) and Alan; her two siblings, Thomas Burton (wife Donna) and Nancy Spicklemier (husband Bob); alongside many friends and loved ones who will miss her deeply. Her kind spirit and nurturing heart will forever remain in our memories.
Funeral Service will be on Monday, November 10 at 2:00 pm at Wade Funeral Home, 4140 W. Pioneer Parkway, Arlington, Texas 76013
Graveside service will be Wednesday, November 12, 2025 at 9:00 am at DFW National Cemetery.
In this time of grief, we invite those whose lives were touched by Martha to remember her not only for her accomplishments but also for the love she shared with all who knew her. Her compassion, laughter, and unwavering support will be sorely missed but will continue to inspire us every day.
Her wish was that instead of flowers everyone would donate either to the ABC Class Charities Fund at FUMC Arlington or to a charity of their choice.
May Martha Jo Stiebing rest in peace as we cherish her memory forever.
