Martha Wilson Heaton, age 89, of Demorest, Georgia, took her heavenly flight home to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, November 7, 2025.
Born on February 12, 1936, in Demorest, Georgia, she was the daughter of the late George and Susie Dean Wilson. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. A true homemaker in every sense, she found great joy in caring for her family and creating a loving home. Cooking was legendary among those blessed to gather around her table.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Grady Heaton; sister, Mary Wilson Trotter; brothers, George “Buck” Wilson, Lamar Wilson, Carl Wilson, and Roy Wilson; and step-mothers, Hester Kelly Wilson and Dorothy Jones Wilson.
She leaves behind a legacy of love through her children, Grady Lamar “Simon” Heaton (Joann); Sherry Cook (Bradley); and Jennie Hallford (Keith); her cherished grandchildren, Brandon Cook (Amber), Brent Cook (Nichole), Chad Heaton, and Kayla Munsey (Justin); and her adored great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn Cook and Ryder Cook. She is also survived by her sister, Carol Wilson & brother, Tommy Wilson; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 9, 2025, at Yonah Memorial Gardens, with Bro. Graylen Armour officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, prior to the service.
Though her earthly journey has ended, Martha’s light will continue to shine brightly.
