Heart of the Valley Cremation ServicesMartin “Marty” D. Blundon of Redgranite, WI passed away on Wednesday, August 20, 2025, surrounded by his loving family at the age of 75. Born on September 13, 1949, in Milwaukee, WI, he was a devoted husband to Kathryn “Katy” his “Sunshine” and a loving father to Dawn and Kim.
Marty proudly served in the United States Marine Corps as a Lance Corporal serving in the Vietnam War and was awarded the National Defense Service Medal and the Vietnamese Service Medal with one star.
On June 19, 1972, he married Katy and they built a life together in Cudahy raising two daughters. After 41 years, he retired from the Ladish Company in Cudahy, Wisconsin on June 30, 2012. In his retirement, he enjoyed camping, winning at video poker, listening to the Milwaukee Brewers on the radio and watching the Wisconsin Badgers and Green Bay Packers.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years Kathryn (nee: Lyon); children Dawn (Phillip) Bontempo and Kim (Todd) Blundon Eichman; grandchildren Izabella “Bellamy” (Ben) Gierszewski, Francesca “Frankie” (fiancé Jacob Velie) Bontempo, Alexis “BooBoo” Blundon and Jaiden “JD” Blundon; as well as other relatives and many friends who will miss him dearly.
The family invites you to Celebrate Marty’s Life in accordance with his wishes, by cheering on the Green Bay Packers on Sunday, November 2 at the VFW Wells-Krause Post 2925, 420 N. Wisconsin St., Berlin, WI. Honor Guard to present at 11:30AM. Buffet lunch to be served.
