My first memory of my cousin Martin took place in Steubenville, Ohio where his family first lived when they moved here from England. Shortly thereafter, Uncle Jay and Aunt Roni moved to Chicago, and our lives were forever changed. Because my mother Eileen was so overjoyed to have her sister close by, she began planning children's parties for all of the British war-brides and their children, and Martin and I got to attend them. While Martin was quiet and shy as a youngster, we enjoyed pleasant conversations as adults. I have always thought he was very, very smart.
