Martin Douglas Hornberger, age 74, died on Friday, March 22, 2024. He was born December 29, 1949 in Calgary, Alberta, Canada to the late Marcus and Freda (Svenson) Hornberger.
Martin Douglas Hornberger was born and raised in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. He served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints for 2 years in Colorado/New Mexico Mission. He attended Brigham Young University where he attained a Bachelor's Degree in Business, and also met his wife, Sally. They raised 8 children on a farm in Southwest Missouri. After Sally passed away at age 53, he married Janet, an angel who came into his life and the life of his children. He was known to be a hard worker and was very industrious, always finding a way to fix or repurpose things. He served faithfully his whole life in the church. Martin was known for having a strong testimony of Jesus Christ and found his greatest joy and achievement in life through his family.
He is preceded in death by his first wife, Sally (Stradling) and a brother, Leon Hornberger.
He is survived by his wife, Janet (Tresner) Hornberger; children, Melissa and Shane Lefler of Canada, Jared and Anne Hornberger of Arkansas, Rebecca and Tony Berry of Arkansas, Jody and Cace Smith of Arkansas, Jenny and Stan McBride of Arkansas, Jeremy and Meredith Hornberger, Anna and Michael Vega of Florida, Sara Hornberger of Arkansas; siblings, Sheila Strang of Canada, Lois Hornberger of Utah, Judy Castle of Arizona, Andrew and Judy Hornberger of Arizona, Stephen and Linda Hornberger of Canada, Matthew and Anne Hornberger of Canada, Roger Hornberger of Canada, MaryEllen and Don Fairbanks of Colorado; bonus children, Douglas and Genny Bull of Arkansas, Kimi and Van Gillespie of Arkansas, Tracy and Brad Nuttall of Arizona, Cody and Mickenna Bull of Arkansas, Jenny and Shandon Bradford of Utah, 33 grandchildren and a host of extended family.
Visitation 9:00am with Funeral Service beginning at 10:00am, Friday, March 29, 2024 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 6738 Lynch's Prairie Ct. Springdale, Arkansas with President Shaun Sedrick Officiating. Private family burial at 2:30pm, Friday, March 29, 2024 at Kings Cemetery in Seligman, Missouri.

I have so many sweet memories of Martin, coming and spending hours with Jeff and I at our auto shop in Springfield Missouri. You couldn“t stop those two from talking once they got started. I loved my time with him.
