Martin Hernandez Salinas, 55, passed away on December, 17, 2024 in McAllen, Texas.
Martin was born in Santa Ana, California, to Felicitas Pena Hernandez and Martiriano Osuna Salinas on October 7, 1969.
Martin was born in California, but spent most of his life in McAllen, TX. In McAllen, Martin met Maria Loudres Cruz when they were both 14 in 1983. In March of 1988, they had their first child, Maricruz Salinas. After six more years together, Martin Salinas Jr was born on January 1, 1994. He had a successful career as a truck driver for over 35 years.
Despite separating in 2011, Martin and Maria remained good friends until his death. Martin is survived by his two children, Martin Jr and Maricruz. Martin is preceded in death by his mother and father.
Martin will always be remembered for his charming personality, kindness and sense of humor. He was always making people laugh and was empathetic to everyone he came across. Martin was a big fan of the Chicago Bulls (but only the 90s roster) and the Dallas Cowboys. He loved watching true crime shows and having drinks with friends. He also loved playing with the babies of the family (and making them cry with his mean face) and feeding stray cats and dogs.
Visitation will be held at McAllen Funeral Home on Monday, December 23, 2024 from 4PM to 8PM.
