Obituary published on Legacy.com by Apyre National Cremation Services - Port Reading on Dec. 31, 2025.
Martin E. Spence, age 86, of Whitehouse Station, died peacefully on December 18, 2025 at Hunterdon Care Center in Flemington.

Born on January 28, 1939, in Newark, New Jersey, he was the son of the late Albert and Hannah Spence.

On February 14, 1960, Martin married Beverly A.Moy. Together they shared 65 wonderful years filled with laughter, love, and cherished memories.

Martin was a renowned and highly respected Master Floor Mechanic whose craftsmanship, unmatched skill and steadfast attention to detail transformed homes and businesses across the tristate area. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather that valued every moment he had with his beloved family, which often included home projects, storytelling and occasionally his favorite horror films. He was also an animal lover who found joy in caring for and protecting animals of all sizes.

He was predeceased by his beloved wife Beverly (d.2025), grandson Martin Spence III, parents Albert and Hannah and brother Albert.

He is survived by his three children, Martin Spence Jr. (Toni), Cindy Echevarria, and Cheryl Spence. His legacy continues through his beloved grandchildren Richie Echevarria (Kate), Tara DiGiovanna (Joe), and Samantha Spence, and his adored great-grandchildren Elijah, Layla, Mia, Peter, and Robert. He will also be lovingly remembered by his sisters, brother, nieces, nephews and many dear friends.

Martin will be deeply missed, fondly remembered, and forever honored for the solid ground he laid both in his life and in his craft.

Donations in remembrance of Martin would be appreciated to the Ronald McDonald House at www.ronaldmcdonaldhouse.org
