Martin Roy Wooldridge

Martin Roy "Marty" Wooldridge, age 45 died in his home in Salem, Oregon on Monday, August 29, 2016. The cause was a heart condition. Born September 15, 1970 in Corvallis, Oregon to Gail Ann and Kent Leslie Wooldridge he lived in and around Jefferson, Oregon during his childhood and early adult years. He attended Jefferson High School and graduated from Oregon State University in 1995. On July 17, 2004 he married Jean Sattler. Marty worked at the Oregon Lottery as an information technology architect. He was a highly technical, enthusiastic business-minded professional and routinely led the most complex IT projects. He was articulate, goal driven and an excellent coach and mentor to his colleagues. This past April marked his 20th year of state service. Marty was an accomplished musician. He was formally trained in classical guitar and played some bass guitar and piano. He also studied Taekwondo for several years and earned his black belt. Marty will be remembered for his love of family, passion for music and spirit of adventure. He played guitar often and initiated jam sessions with his family and friends. He loved to be outdoors and spent much of his time camping, fishing, golfing, riding motorcycles, skiing and snowmobiling. He is survived by his life partner Sarah Meyer, daughter Jessica Ramsdell and her husband David, daughters Megan Wooldridge and Abigail Wooldridge, grandchildren Mason Feist, Ian Feist and Haylee Ramsdell, father Kent Wooldridge and wife Renee', mother Gail Ann Wooldridge and her partner Dave Moen, brother David Wooldridge and his partner Pamela Pitts, sister Cassandra Campbell and her husband Jason Campbell, and his dog Molly. Marty was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Joseph Roy Wooldridge and Madeleine Louise Ream and maternal grandparents Glenn Otto Virgin and Carol Marjory Virgin. Services will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, September 7th at the Fisher Funeral Home, 306 Washington Street SW, Albany, Oregon. Burial will be held at Willamette Memorial Park, 2640 Old Salem Rd NE, Albany, Oregon. Reception will be held at the residence of Kent and Renee' Wooldridge, 33621 NE Hoefer Drive, Albany, OR. Relatives and friends are welcome at the service, burial and reception.
