Martinique Eckard Obituary
Martinique Marie Eckard, 75, of Statesville, passed away on Saturday, November 8, 2025 at Iredell Memorial Hospital.
Born on September 21, 1950 in Pendleton County, West Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Albert Eckard and Edith Lamb Blankenship. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Robert “Bob” Eckard, Ralph Eckard, and Roy Eckard, and a sister-in-law, Janet Eckard.
Martinique was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose love and kindness touched the hearts of all who knew her. She was very creative and talented at making crafts and decor for her home. She especially enjoyed decorating for the holidays. She loved baking–her Christmas cookies were a cherished family tradition. She also loved to spend time outside gardening and always enjoyed watching the hummingbirds. She was of the Christian faith and lived her life with love and grace.
Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Jenifer (Greg Sorber) Malmgren; son, Joe Beck (Pam); brothers, Albert Eckard and John Eckard; grandchildren, Kalee Sorber, Brianna (Jake) Sorber Weed, Jessica (Dan) Best Walters, Casey Best, Joey Beck, and Amanda Beck, and several great-grandchildren and extended family members who will all miss her dearly.
Services will remain private at this time.
