Marvel was born June 9, 1932, in Rock Elm, WI. She was the daughter of Archie F. Brookshaw and Hazel A. (Burke) Brookshaw. She graduated from Elmwood High School in 1951.
Marvel married Neil Olson on April 10, 1954. After marriage they farmed in Elmwood for many years and raised their family. Marvel & Neil moved to the Downsville area in 1986 and later to the Comforts of Home in Menomonie and then to the Colfax Health and Rehab.
Marvel and Neil enjoyed traveling together and went to many places including Branson, MO, California, Seattle, Norway, Sweden and Hawaii.
Marvel's favorite hobbies were crocheting/quilting and gardening. Marvel's grandkids loved sneaking fresh vegetables and berries from her garden. They can also remember how amazing her apple, blueberry and butternut pies were that she made from scratch.
Marvel is survived by a son Greg Olson; six grandchildren, Jeremiah Olson, Joshua Olson, Stacey (Kevin) Clements, Tatjana (Timothy) Michlig, Ryan (Kady) Olson, Ciara (CJ) Christianson; 12 great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Neil, a son Douglas, several sisters and brothers.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday December 18, 2024, at Poplar Hill Cemetery, Township of Rock Elm, rural Elmwood.
