It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved, Marvin Alcon. On March 21, 2025, with open arms, he was received at the gates of heaven by our Heavenly Father, and his parents Nora and Alfonso Alcon. Marvin was born on February 9, 1960, and was the youngest of seven siblings. For his entire life, he resided in Ojo Feliz, N.M.
Marvin was a devoted father and grandfather. He was a simple man who lived a simple life. He rarely left his casita but was always current on all the happenings in the world around him, even the local mitote. He loved to talk and spent many of hours on the phone making sure everyone was ok. His home was warm, and he was always welcoming. Many of family and friends spent time in his home creating countless memories. Marvin, also referred to as Marino, was also a stubborn man who stood firm on his beliefs and wants, straight up till the end. He was soft and loving when it came to his grandkids. Pampo Martian (his grandkid nickname) had a love for sweets and candies and was known to have shared many "sweet" moments with his grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents Nora and Alfonso Alcon, maternal grandparents, Josue Valdez and Esther Valdez, paternal grandparents, Macedonio Alcon and Beatrice Alcon.
Marvin is survived by his children, Edward Alcon, Albino Alcon, and Sara Alcon (Michael). Grandchildren, Joaquin Alcon, Hayley Alcon, Caleb Alcon, AJ Alcon, Zack Alcon, Crystal Romero, Ambrosio Romero, Aspen Padilla, and Alesio Padilla. Brothers and sisters, Roger Alcon (Sandra), Andy Alcon (Yvonne), Jannie Espinoza, Shirley Salazar (Joe), Joyce Romero (Joe), and Gerald Alcon (Bernice). Tia Joycelynn Gonzales (Ruben) and Tio Eluid Alcon. Nieces and nephews, Kim Espinoza-Smith, Judy Andolino, Jamie Romero, Karrie Romero, Kristie Tapia, Angelica Salazar, Shauna Hennington, Pilar Alcon, April Alcon, David Alcon, Randall Espinoza, Joshua Salazar, Cheryl Alcon, Charles Alcon, and Jesse James Alcon. He had numerous great nieces and nephews, one great-great niece, and too many cousins to mention.
Services will be held on Friday, March 28, 2025, at 5:30 p.m. at the Rogers Mortuary Chapel. Marvin will then be laid to rest at the Ojo Feliz Cemetery on Saturday, March 29, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. Serving as pallbearers: Joaquin Alcon, Hayley Alcon, Caleb Alcon, AJ Alcon, Zack Alcon, and Demaris Alcon.
