Funeral service celebrating the life of Marvin "Jack" Barnett of West Monroe, LA, will be held at 11:00 A.M., Friday, April, 19, 2024 in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home, 300 McMillan RD, West Monroe, with Pastor Roger Baker officiating.
Family will receive friends for visitation at 10:00 A.M. until time of service at the funeral home. A private family interment will follow the service.
Marvin "Jack" Barnett was born in West Monroe, LA, on August 20, 1936. He entered Heaven’s gates on April 13, 2024.
Jack met his future bride in 1951 and after dating for four years, he married Evelyn Marie Perkins, December 26, 1955. They were happily married for 66 years.
A loving husband, avid hunter, and faithful servant of God. "Jack" loved to hunt and travel, but his heart was in serving God. He was a very talented musician and singer. Over his life he served as an Evangelist, Pastor, Prison Minister, Nursing home minister, Praise & Worship Leader, and sang in several quartets.
Jack was preceded in death by his father and mother, Vincent and Daisy Barnett; his sister, Lois Whitlock; and his son, Jackie Barnett.
He is survived by his son, Gary and wife, Kathi Barnett; three grandchildren, Jaci Lynn Barnett, Amanda and her husband, Dillon Davis, and Lauren Barnett; and six great grandchildren.
Jack's family would like to thank his caregivers, Alecia Bamburg, Evelyn Langford, and especially Doris Cooper Guy for their compassion, kindness and dedication they exemplified. We are so grateful to you! Finally to the staff of Winnfield Nursing & Rehabilitation and Premier Hospice, thank you for your excellent care of Jack in his final months.
