Marvin Robert Budd, passed away at his home in Wichita, Kansas, on March 19, 2025, at the age of 81.

Born on May 28, 1943, in Springfield, Missouri, Marvin lived his life filled with dedication, hard work, and a passion for classic cars, NASCAR and genealogy.

A graduate of West High School in Wichita, graduating in 1962, Marvin embarked on a lengthy career as a produce manager at Dillions, where he was employed for an impressive 38 years. He was known not only for his strong work ethic but also for his sense of humor.

Marvin's zest for life extended well beyond his professional achievements. He had an unwavering passion for collecting classic cars, and particularly prided himself on restoring a 1937 Ford V8 Coupe, exhibiting it proudly with the Ford V8 Club, where he served as president. His love for cars was rivaled only by his interests in NASCAR, trains, and barns. An avid sports fan and genealogy enthusiast, Marvin took great joy in exploring his family history. He was particularly proud to be a 13th generation American citizen Budd, tracing his lineage back to a 1632 English immigrant to Massachusetts.

In addition to his accomplishments, Marvin cherished the time spent traveling, often making yearly trips to Alaska and Arizona, creating memories that would last a lifetime.

Marvin is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Kelli and James Sterling of Puyallup, Washington. He shared over 30 years of love and companionship with his life partner, Julie Sullivan, Evelyn Moore (Julie's daughter) and Jaslyn Moore and Camdin Hardyway (Julie's grandkids) His legacy continues through his grandchildren, Shayna (Erik) Murdock, Shore (Megan) Sterling, Seth Sterling, and Spencer Sterling. Marvin also took great pride in being a great-grandfather to Jack, Cordelia, and Killian. In his home, he found joy in the companionship of his beloved cats: Morris, Maudie, and Tuxedo.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Deanna Durham, and his parents, Marvin Budd and Lorena (Keating) Tucker. Marvin Robert Budd leaves behind a legacy of laughter, hard work, and family love that will be remembered and cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Cremation has taken place with private family services held at a later date at Weakley Cemetery.  Services are under the guidance and personal care of Wickham Family Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 510 North 7th, Fredonia, Kansas 66736.
