Marvin Clarence Jacobs

Marvin C. Jacobs, age 87 of Laingsburg, died peacefully at home on Sunday, January 18, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. Marvin was born on February 2, 1938, to Russell and Alberta (Mosher) Jacobs in Lansing, Michigan. Marvin married Peggy Gray (the love of his life) on October 20, 1954, and they shared 54 years together before her death.
Marvin took pride in maintaining his lawn and often spent time on his porch enjoying a cigar, accompanied by his dog, Sweetpea, and later May May. He enjoyed visits with family residing in Kentucky and Virginia. Demonstrating a strong work ethic from an early age, Marvin began working at 13 years old and instilled these values in his children. Before retiring, he worked for General Motors for three decades.
Marvin is survived by his children, Robin Cole; Randy (Debbie) Jacobs; Jill (Bob) Ploughman; and Todd (Robert Kortze) Jacobs; grandchildren, Robert (Heather) Jacobs, Jacob (Nichole) Cruz, and Ashley Cole; great-grandchildren, Hailey (Tim) Harvey and Brittany Jacobs; sister, Gay Barr; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Peggy Jacobs; siblings, Sandra, Dale, Patty, Evelyn, and Ricky; and parents, Russell and Alberta.
A private service will be handled by Watkins Brothers Funeral Homes, located at 203 E. 1st North St., Laingsburg, MI 48848.
