Marvin Lee Murrell, age 67, of Linneus, Missouri, passed away on Friday, January 30, 2026, at Mosaic Hospital in St. Joseph, Missouri.

Marvin was born on September 30, 1958, in Joliet, Illinois, to Ellis Raymond Murrell and Mary Alice (Cobbs) Murrell. He was a 1976 graduate of the Linn County R-I School District.

In his younger years, Marvin worked alongside his parents at Murrell's Service Station in Linneus. He later became a local carpenter, worked as a truck driver for several years, and eventually owned and operated his own rock hauling business, Murrell Trucking Company. Marvin took great pride in his strong work ethic and providing for his family.

On September 28, 2019, Marvin was united in marriage to Patricia Ann Murrell (Blair), who survives him. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend to many.

Marvin enjoyed the simple pleasures of life. He loved fishing, hunting, riding four-wheelers, baking pies, gardening, and spending time outdoors. Most of all, he cherished time spent with family and friends.

He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Linneus and took pride in serving on the Morris Chapel Cemetery Board.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia Ann Murrell of Linneus; his stepchildren, Kristina Missey and Nathan Schindler and significant other Nicole Hemme; seven grandchildren, with one more on the way; his brothers, Wayne Murrell and wife Sandy of Brookfield, and Kenny Murrell and wife Sherry of Linneus; along with several nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

Marvin was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Mary Murrell.

A Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 4, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Wright Funeral Home. Graveside Services and burial will follow at Morris Chapel Cemetery in Purdin, Missouri.

Memorial contributions to Morris Chapel Cemetery Association may be left at or mailed to Wright Funeral Home, P.O. Box 496, Brookfield, MO 64628.

Marvin will be remembered for his hardworking nature, generous spirit, and the love he shared with his family and friends. His legacy will live on in the many lives he touched.
