Marvin took the time to serve the Lord in many ways. He and Lois were one of the founding couples of the Stonebridge Bible Church (Evangelical Free Church of Wisconsin Rapids) in 1972. He made 19 trips around the world building churches and bible camps mainly in Europe and Asia. Arrowhead Bible Camp located in New Auburn, WI, was one of the camps that he donated lumber to to build the initial cabins. He has supported Lisa and Pierre Van Buren for many years.
Marvin was an avid fisherman. He knew the lakes in the area of Atikokan, Ontario, Canda, like the back of his hand. In the summer of 1997. Marvin bought a camper and got a site at Finnlayson Resort. He built unto the camper and turned it into a beautiful cabin. There he continued to host many friends and family for decades. He even hosted a couple from Germany. The cabin was sold in 2017 after his wife passed away. They were both avid sports fans and loved to watch and cheer on the Packers, Brewers and Badgers for Football, Baseball, and Basketball. Marvin loved to watch the old black and white movies, mostly Westerns and Mysteries. Perry Mason and John Wayne were some of the favorites.
Marvin moved to Sparta, WI in 2020 with his daughter Jodi. He was a resident of Eagle Crest South Memory Care in La Crosse at the time of his passing.
