Marvin Kermit Noth, born June 8, 1944 to Kermit and Maxine Piguet Noth passed away peacefully to be with the Lord on Friday, October 18, 2024. Marvin was born in Stratford, WI and graduated from Stratford High School in 1962. Marvin was drafted into the Army and served for 21 months at the age of 21. He served during the Vietnam War and was stationed in Korea. He eventually married Lois A. Snider on June 15, 1968, in Pittsville, WI. Marvin and Lois lived in Wisconsin Rapids their entire marriage. Marvin worked for Consoweld until they closed their doors and started at Consolidated Papers a year later. There he was a forklift lift operator until he retired in 2002 from Stora Enso. Marvin owned a small business, where he cut trees down and sawed lumber in his spare time. He finally retired from the tree cutting in 2018. Marvin and Lois had three children, Jon Noth (Molly), Jodi Lovgren (Nick Steinhaus) and Jerold Noth.

Marvin took the time to serve the Lord in many ways. He and Lois were one of the founding couples of the Stonebridge Bible Church (Evangelical Free Church of Wisconsin Rapids) in 1972. He made 19 trips around the world building churches and bible camps mainly in Europe and Asia. Arrowhead Bible Camp located in New Auburn, WI, was one of the camps that he donated lumber to to build the initial cabins. He has supported Lisa and Pierre Van Buren for many years.
Marvin was an avid fisherman. He knew the lakes in the area of Atikokan, Ontario, Canda, like the back of his hand. In the summer of 1997. Marvin bought a camper and got a site at Finnlayson Resort. He built unto the camper and turned it into a beautiful cabin. There he continued to host many friends and family for decades. He even hosted a couple from Germany. The cabin was sold in 2017 after his wife passed away. They were both avid sports fans and loved to watch and cheer on the Packers, Brewers and Badgers for Football, Baseball, and Basketball. Marvin loved to watch the old black and white movies, mostly Westerns and Mysteries. Perry Mason and John Wayne were some of the favorites.
Marvin moved to Sparta, WI in 2020 with his daughter Jodi. He was a resident of Eagle Crest South Memory Care in La Crosse at the time of his passing. He is remembered for his kindness, willingness to help others and his great sense of humor. He touched many lives and he will be greatly missed by all of us.
He is survived by his children Jon and Molly Noth of Wisconsin Rapids, Jodi Lovgren and Nick Steinhaus of La Crosse, WI and Jerold Noth. Grandchildren Joseph Lovgren, Sparta, WI, Samuel Lovgren, Galesville, WI, Ethan Lovgren, La Crosse, WI, Alex Passineau, Wisconsin Rapids, Adam (Katie) Passineau, of Wisconsin Rapids, and Natalie Walters, Eau Claire, WI and William Walters of Eau Claire, WI. His sisters Violet (Dayton) Schwartz of Arpin, WI and Dawn Garland of Higden, Arkansas and many nieces and nephews and friends.
