Marvin F. Reginald, 94, of Sparland passed away on Saturday, September 13, 2025, at Henry Rehab and Nursing in Henry, IL.

Marvin was born on December 7, 1930, in Henry, IL, to Charles and Beulah (Thielbar) Reginald. He married Sharon McCasky on August 6, 1966, in Lacon. She passed on September 24, 2018.

Marvin grew up in the rural communities of Henry and Sparland, graduating from Sparland High School in 1949. He then began working at Caterpillar, Inc., sweeping floors, until he was drafted into the Army in January 1952. Marvin spent two years in active duty with the 3rd Armored Division in Fort Knox, KY, training recruits on tanks. Marvin then returned to Caterpillar, Inc., and his final position was welding engineering, retiring in 1990 after 41 years.

Being the family handyman, Marvin was often found repairing/remodeling homes for his family. He was very proud of his woodworking skills, making his own trim for his and Sharon's home. His other activities included fishing, playing softball in the backyard with his children and neighbor kids, and crossword puzzles/daily jumble word puzzles.

Marvin is survived by his son, Todd (Roanna) Reginald of Chillicothe, his daughter, Lisa (Lawrence) Roop of Washburn, grandchildren, Samantha (Michael) Giugler of Sparland, and Matthew Roop of Washburn, and two very special great-granddaughters, Lia and Elizabeth.

He was preceded in death by his father, mother, step-father, Henry Reginald, brothers, Robert Reginald, Russell Reginald, Jack Reginald and his sisters, Marjorie Conarro and Barbara Jenkins.

The family would like to thank the staff at Evergreen Senior Living/Legacy Memory Care in Chillicothe and Compassus Hospice for their exceptional care, love and support and Henry Rehab and Nursing in his final days.

Funeral services will be held at Lenz Memorial Home in a Lacon on Friday, September 19, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. with Keith Haun officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in the Lacon Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to Legacy Memory Care or Compassus. Marvin had requested a "flannel shirt" funeral. Please feel free to dress casual with your favorite jeans and "flannel" shirt. Online condolences can be left at lenzmemorialhome.com
