Marvin Clay Sorrell, 82, of Anniston, died on Wednesday, October 22, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Per the family's wishes, no public services will be held at this time.
Marvin was born in Kentucky, on March 2, 1943, to the late Otto and Leeoma Sargent Sorrell.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his loving wife, Flora Gay Sorrell.
Those left to cherish the memory of Marvin include his children, Marvin "Bucky" Sorrell II (Kathy), Samuel Lee Sorrell, Sherry McCune (Bobby), and Kristy Do; eight grandchildren, Heather, Shasta, Emily, Christopher, Matthew, Kenny, Kevin, and Lynn; several great-grandchildren; his siblings, Frances, Sue, Dodie, Bonnie, and Charles; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Marvin was a US Army veteran and fought for his country, serving as a Chemical Corps Engineer, in Vietnam. He enjoyed watching NASCAR and spending time at the Talladega Short Track. Marvin was best known for his "cut-off blue jeans" and if you knew him, you know you could find him at the Short Track dedicating his time to the pit crew he was part of, which he greatly loved. Marvin retired from Huron Valley Steel as a Magnetics Supervisor and enjoyed being with his family in his spare time. He was a wonderful father, grandfather, and friend, and will be greatly missed.
