Marvin Stephenson Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Shaffer Funeral Home - Sherwood on Nov. 11, 2024.
Marvin B. Stephenson, affectionately known as Steve to his friends and family, passed away peacefully on November 6, 2024, at the age of 72, in his hometown of San Angelo, Texas. Born on December 5, 1951, to a family rooted in the heart of Texas, Steve's life was marked by his unwavering spirit and the joy he found in the simple pleasures of life.
Steve was a devoted husband to his late wife, Charity Ann Stephenson, whose memory he cherished deeply. He was a loving father to his daughters, Kimberly Stephenson and her husband Tyler Westerman, and Sharida Kross and her husband Woody Crow II. Steve's legacy will live on through his grandchildren, Jaden, Woody III, and Ian, who will remember their grandfather for his boundless love and the many other family and friends that will remember the wisdom he imparted.
An alumnus at ASU with a Bachelor of Science degree, Steve combined his education with his entrepreneurial spirit to become a respected business owner in San Angelo. His professional life was marked by a strong work ethic and a dedication to service, values he instilled in both his family and his colleagues.
Steve's love for nature was evident to all who knew him. He was happiest when he was outdoors, whether he was fishing in the tranquil waters of his river front property, hunting in the vast Texas wilderness, or simply taking in the beauty of the world around him. He and his late wife enjoyed being in the Concho Classic Chevy Club for years. His 1957 Chevy Belair was more than just a car; it was a symbol of his love for classic design and the open road. He enjoyed working on and maintaining classic cars. A lot of small repairs were done in the driveway or garage and he was always excited to get something running. He did a lot of building and tinkering. The entire town enjoyed the Christmas yard displays He would bring to life with his wife's creativity and his ingenuity.
An avid animal lover, Steve's dogs Frosty and Snuggles were his constant companions. They brought him immeasurable joy and comfort, and he was often seen sharing his adventures with them by his side.
As we remember Steve, we are reminded of the words of Ralph Waldo Emerson: "To know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded." Steve's life was a testament to this sentiment, as he touched the lives of many with his kindness, his generosity, and his unwavering optimism.
Steve's absence will be deeply felt by his family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of knowing him. His laughter, his stories, and his ability to find beauty in the ordinary will be missed, but never forgotten. As we say goodbye to Steve, we take solace in the memories we shared and the knowledge that his legacy will continue to inspire us.
In honoring Steve's life, we celebrate the enduring impact he made on the world around him. His presence was a gift, and though he has departed from this earthly life, the essence of who he was will forever be etched in the hearts of those who loved him.
Rest in peace, Steve. Your journey through this life was one of purpose, joy, and love. You have left us richer for having known you, and for that, we are eternally grateful.

I´m so very sorry. Stevie and I grew up together. We had so many memories at the lake way before the house was built. Kayaks, waterskiing, swimming, hanging out at the store, his house, just do so many wonderful times together with him, Charlotte, Margie and Bill. Bless your sweet family with love and peace. Praying for you.
