Marvis Denise Simpson, 61, of McKeesport, was born on March 9, 1964, in McKeesport, PA. She was the daughter of Ila Mae Simmons and Robert Simpson.

Marvis aka "Marv Barv" and "Marvelous," graduated from McKeesport Area High School in 1982. She worked as a Prison Guard at TDCJ in Killeen, Texas, Healthcare worker at Palms, Community Life, and at UPMC.

Marvis loved caring for her dog Lucky, who was her baby. She loved being around family and friends, shopping, traveling, and most of all, she LOVED shoes. Marvis was a member of Trinity Church of God in Christ, our family church.

Marvis was a good support system for her family and friends, having such a bubbly personality and a smile that would lighten up any dark room. Her laugh and smile always touched many hearts and lives of others, and will brighten up your day.

Marvis passed away on August 15, 2025. She was preceded in death by her mother, Ila Mae Simmons, father, Robert Simpson, and sisters, Ernestine Brown and Barbara Ann Bennett.

Remaining to cherish Marvis memory are her brothers, Anthony Simmons, Stanley (Dawn) Simpson; sisters, Stella (Tommy) Mackson, Violet (Calvin) Sims, Arie Delphine Porter, Doris Stinson; host of nieces and nephews; best friends, April Myers and Lynnie Brown; special friend, Michael Montgomery; close friends, Tawanda Windelton and Angie Wilmore; god children LaShae Pope, LaQuin Allen, Trey Allen and Rashaan Stinson.
