Mary Kathryn Ahlstrand

Mary Kathryn Ahlstrand, of Conyers, Georgia, passed away peacefully on October 24, 2025, at

the age of 85.

Born on May 11, 1940, in Alexandria, Minnesota, Mary was the daughter of Jerome and Evelyn

Hughes. She attended Cathedral High School in St. Cloud, MN, and carried the strong values

and kindness of her Midwestern roots throughout her life.

Mary was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Bruce Ahlstrand, her parents, Jerome

and Evelyn Hughes, her brother Thomas Hughes, and her step-grandson Dylan Dunn. She is

lovingly remembered by her children, Sheri Baldwin (Randy) of Murrells Inlet, SC; Cathy Long

(Jack) of Conyers, GA; and Jon Ahlstrand of Rutledge; (Desa). Her memory will also be

cherished by her grandchildren Wells Baldwin (Melanie), Zach Long, Lauren Baldwin

Vredenburg (Hunter), and Jessica Long Walker (Zack), as well as her great-grandchildren

Brooks, Rowan, and Reagan Baldwin, and Raelynn Walker.

A devoted member of St. Pius X Catholic Church in Conyers, Mary lived her faith through

generosity and compassion. She was the proud owner of Ahlstrand's Florist, where her

creativity and love of beauty touched many lives.

Mary enjoyed traveling in her RV, knitting, gardening, and most of all, spending time with her

family and cheering on her grandchildren at their sporting events.

Mary will be laid to rest at Honey Creek Woodlands at the Monastery of the Holy Spirit.
