Mary Alice Anderson Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Michigan Memorial Funeral Home, Inc. on Mar. 28, 2026.
Mary Alice Anderson, born on February 17, 1939, in Bessemer, Alabama, passed away on March 25, 2026, in Plainfield, Illinois, at the age of 87.

Mary Alice was a devoted member of the Sharon Seventh-day Adventist Church, where she was actively involved for over 50 years. Her passion for working with children in ministry touched many young lives, and her nurturing spirit will be remembered by all who had the privilege of being part of her church family.

An avid gardener, Mary Alice found great joy in tending to her flowers, and her home was always adorned with the beauty of nature that she so lovingly cultivated. Her garden was a reflection of her gentle and caring nature, bringing color and life to all who visited.

She is preceded in death by her devoted husband, Raymond Anderson, her beloved parents, Isaac and Mary Thomas, and her brothers, Isaac Thomas, William Thomas, and Woody Thomas.

Mary Alice leaves behind her cherished daughters, Sandra (Gary Sr.) Edwards and Rayna (Edward) Lynch, who will continue to honor her legacy of love and kindness. Her memory will also be carried forward by her three grandchildren, Gary (Kathryn) Edwards, Aaron Edwards, and Myles Lynch, who brought immense joy to her later years.

Mary Alice Anderson will be remembered for her unwavering faith, her love for her family, and the warmth and grace with which she lived her life. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
