Mary Alice McDaniel Hedgecock

Mary Alice McDaniel Hedgecock, 93, went to be with her Lord on Monday, August 11th, 2025, at Beacon Place in Greensboro. She was born in Guilford County on September 11, 1931. Mary Alice was the daughter of the late Fred Lee McDaniel and the late Veltie Hepler McDaniel.

Mary Alice had a lengthy working career for Sears and Roebuck in which she retired. She also volunteered at High Point Regional Hospital. She attended Kernersville Wesleyan Church in Kernersville, NC.

Mary Alice enjoyed her traveling adventures with the Max Meeks group and Green Street Baptist Church most of all she cherished traveling with her brother Allen and sister Lucy. She enjoyed attending local racetracks, watching NASCAR and the Atlanta Braves on TV. She enjoyed her mornings watching Let's Make A Deal & The Price Is Right. Mary Alice's main joy in life was her family & family gatherings.

Over the years, Mary Alice gave many life lessons to her children, Cindy and Marty and to the grandchildren, Mallory, Lauren, Katie and Dalton. Those who knew Mary Alice loved her, as she loved everyone too.

In addition to her parents, Mary Alice was preceded in death by her husband, Bub Hedgecock; brothers, Walter McDaniel, Allen McDaniel, and Hal McDaniel; and sisters, Mildred Parris, Lucy Gallimore.

Mary Alice is survived by her sister, Margaret Chapman (Bobby); her brothers, Aaron McDaniel (Addie) and Paul McDaniel (Mildred Faye); sister-in-law, Barbara McDaniel; daughter Cindy Brewer, son Marty Hedgecock (Diane), and grandchildren; Mallory Register (Dereck), Lauren Ksa (Rotha), Katie Brewer and Dalton Hedgecock; great grandmother to Everly and Sadie Register and numerous nieces and nephews.

Graveside funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM on Sunday, August 17,2025, at Abbott's Creek Primitive Baptist Church, 154 Browntown Lane, High Point, NC, with Pastor Leon Thompson officiating.
