Mary Ann Harper Courtney, 94, beloved mother, wife, sister, aunt, and grandmother, of Mechanicsville, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Tuesday, October 30, 2012. She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward W. Harper and Elizabeth Stosch Harper; five brothers and two sisters. She is survived by her devoted husband of 67 years, Bernard W. Courtney; daughter, Cheryl C. Brunel (Greg); brother, Lucius "Bunny" Harper (Annie); grandson, Michael B. Brunel; sister-in-laws, Hannah Harper and Georgie Harper; devoted niece, Deborah Harper and several family and friends. Family will receive friends on Friday, November 2, 2012 from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Ave. Richmond, VA 23231. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 3, 2012 at 11 a.m. at Nelsen Funeral Home. Interment is to follow in Washington Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, please send contributions to Hanover Friends Church, 6420 Mechanicsville Turnpike Mechanicsville, VA 23111.
