Mary Ann (Roach) Libby, age 78, formerly of Belding, Rockford, and Grand Rapids, passed away Saturday, October 5, 2025 at Fountain View of Lowell. The daughter of Ralph Levere & Beatrice Viola (Nichols) Smith, she was born on July 2, 1947 in Howard City, Michigan.
A devoted mother and grandmother, Mary Ann earned her Bachelor of Arts degree and retired from the Kent County Health Department where she worked in administration. She had attended Rockford Baptist Church and enjoyed crocheting and sewing.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a husband, Thomas Roach; and six brothers and sisters, Margaret Middleton, Minnie Kellogg, Gertrude Irwin, Inabo Reblin, Celia Wheeler, and Alan Smith.
Surviving are her children, Cynthia & John Maxwell, Kathy & Len Gotwalt, Darrell Goodin, Wayne Goodin, and Juline Roach; six grandchildren, Brody Maxwell, Kailey Maxwell, Kaleb & Jenica Gotwalt, Morgan & Cody McCullough, Alexis Goodin, and Keona Goodin; two great-grandsons, Nolan Gotwalt and Luke Gotwalt; two sisters, Rita & Darwin Gilbert and Ursula Beecham; a brother, Dan Smith; two siblings-in-law, Dean Wheeler and Carol Smith; and several nieces and nephews.
Memorial services are at 12:00 Noon on Friday, October 17, 2025 at Calvary Baptist Church, 12501 Montcalm Road, Greenville, with the Rev. R. Mark Shaw, pastor of Calvary Baptist Church officiating. A time of food and fellowship will follow the ceremony in the church hall.
