Mary Ann Pitts (nee Morrow) went home to the Lord on Wednesday, March 25th, 2026, at the age of 92, after a long-term illness.
Mary Ann was born in Cleveland, Ohio on October 8th, 1933, and lived in Elyria most of her life. She graduated from Holy Name High School in 1951. She then attended Dyke College where she received a 2-year business certificate. She was a long-time member of St. Mary Church in Elyria and served as the vice president of the Alter and Rosary Society. She participated in many fund-raising events for the church, along with volunteering as a gym teacher for St. Mary School until 1977. She was employed by the Elyria City Schools as a secretary in 1977 until she retired. She enjoyed quilting, watching Cleveland Guardians (Indians) games, casino trips, reading and spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her children; Terrence (Ava) Pitts of Yulee Florida, Ellen (Michael) Pitts-Smith of Grafton, Michael Pitts of LaGrange, and Douglas (Carla) Pitts of Elyria; four grandchildren, Jeffrey (Stephanie) Pitts, Samantha (Brody) Kaufman, Isabella (Jacob) Burkholder, and Brenna Pitts; four great grandchildren, Spencer, Anna, Noah, and Owen; and brother, James Morrow.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Vincent and Cecillia Morrow (nee Fuerst); her husband of 51 years, Leo L. Pitts; her brother, Edward Morrow; and her sister, Eileen Ruppelt.
Family and friends will be received Tuesday March 31st, 2026 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Reichlin Roberts Bollinger Funeral Home, 327 Cleveland St, Elyria, Ohio. Mass will be 10:00 am on Wednesday April 1st, 2026 at St. Mary Catholic Church, 320 Middle Ave, Elyria, Ohio, with Reverend Father Charles Diedrick Pastor Officiating. Burial will follow at St. Peter Cemetery, North Ridgeville, Ohio.
