Mary J. Bamonte, 91 passed away on September 19, 2024. She was born in Akron and lived most of her adult life in Kenmore. She worked many years and retired from O'Neil"s/Macy's. Cooking and shopping were her favorite activities. She was a phenomenal cook and her sauce and meatballs were legendary! She made sure that both of her daughters-in-law had all of her recipes. Her appearance was important to her and she looked beautiful every day. She was beautiful inside and out. She was loved by everyone who met her, and her family always came first.
Mary is preceded in death by her parents Nicola and Rose Braccio, husband of 59 years John Bamonte, sisters Delores, Catherine (Richard), Carrie (Dominic), Maggie (Rocco), and brother Mike Braccio. She will be dearly missed by her sons Louis (Jan) Bamonte and John (Marie) Bamonte, grandsons Giovanni Scianna and Dominic Scianna, great-grandson Lucca Scianna, brothers Tony (Judy) Braccio and Jim (Barb) Braccio, sister-in-law Sandra Braccio, her special princess Shayna and many nieces and nephews. The family would like to say a special thank you to Mary's caregiver for the last year, Angie Best.
Funeral services will be at the Prentice Funeral Home, 1154 Kenmore Blvd. on Tuesday, September 24, 2024 at 2:00 pm, officiated by Pastor Robert Marquis, a former neighbor and close friend. The family will receive friends from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm. Inurnment will take place at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery at a later date.
